Are you a Bermudian applying for a student visa for Canada? (This advice is also useful for other nationalities entering Canada for school)
Here’s some things you should be doing and should definitely know – plus a couple of tips to help you budget and save money.
1. Apply for your student visa as early as possible
2. The Bermuda Government has secured biometrics scanning here on island will take place on June 6 & 7th .
3. Print out every form you’ve submitted for your application and keep secure in a folder. Immigration may ask for it when you travel through the airport.
When you enter Canada:
1. Set up a bank account with Scotia Bank (more perks)
2. Download transit or rocket man – public transportation apps
3. You can work while on your student visa: 20 hours during the semester and 40 hours during Christmas breaks and summer breaks ….AND SO MUCH MORE!
