St. David’s Residents React to Google’s Cable Landing Station

The tech giant – Google – held its second town hall meeting on June 17th, at the Open Door Christian Assembly, aiming to address the people most affected by the development: St. David’s residents.

While the majority in attendance were grateful for Google’s communication with the community and their plans for investment in Bermuda’s digital infrastructure – like building tech programmes at St. David’s Primary – some residents were concerned about health effects, timing of construction, road repairs and employment.

Aiming to get further understanding of why Google has decided to set up with Bermuda, a crowd had the chance to ask questions and be presented with the overall development.
