Stay Engaged: Episode one -Are the youth engaged in the 2020 General Election?

Co – founder of Bermuda Youth Connect, Ajai Peets talks to Maya Palacio, host, about the push for a National Debate in Bermuda for the upcoming General Election 2020. Unfortunately, some leaders rejected the Debate as their stipulations could not be reached.

For example, the Hon. Premier David Burt’s team stated that they would not debate against a party they said cannot form a government. This was in reference to the Free Democratic Movement who could only gather 15 candidates (which is now 14 as of September 25).

Therefore, the Bermuda Youth Connect gathered a Forum with the help of Bermeme and others.

Peets also discussed the need for women to be better represented in the political parties, the lack of value on educated experience, and whether or not politicians on social media are genuine.

Of course, we played a couple of games to get to know Ajai better and we also talked about Bermuda Youth Connect and their overall goal. Stay engaged.
