The non-consensual sharing of intimate images act came into effect June 15, 2021. People asked why the act took so long to come into effect in Bermuda. Like most laws, passing a bill into law is not wildly considered unless effecting those who make the laws. Imagine 2021, Instagram launches and soon after it’s the 13 -17 year olds discovering camera phones, social media and iPhones. Teaching themselves how to use major platforms before they were major while going through adolescence.
The use of social media and privacy was a growing life lesson for everyone.
In this episode, Maya will discuss the law and the consequences in the non-consensual sharing of intimate images act (revenge porn law) in Bermuda. Watch until the end for a helpful tip from content creator Talia Chtsein (@talialicgstein) – video taken from her tiktok account. I own no rights to her video played at the end.
